Recognizing International Day of Persons with Disabilities – December 3

The Town of Petawawa joins the global community in celebrating the International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPWD).International Day of Persons with Disabilities Image

This day is an opportunity for:

Celebration – Valuing the diversity of our global community and cherishing the unique contributions of every individual, regardless of ability.

Learning – Understanding and learning from the lived experiences of people with disabilities.

Optimism – Looking toward a future where abilities, not disabilities, define us.

Action – Renewing our commitment to equal human rights and creating a world that is inclusive for all.

In recognition of this important day, the Petawawa Accessibility Advisory Committee is proud to announce that the Disability Flag will be flown from the community flagpole at the Civic Centre from December 1–15.

Let’s take this time to celebrate, learn, and act together toward building a truly inclusive community!
