40 KM Intermediate Class (18+)

  • ‚ÄčThis category is reserved for experienced to advanced paddlers who have a strong knowledge and previous experience of paddling long distances over 30-35 km. Racers must be knowledgeable about self-rescue and various adverse open water conditions including wind and waves. Racers must be able to paddle in semi-isolation as participants spread out. 
  • The race leaves from Petawawa Point (river right), passes Riverside Park beach in Pembroke (river right), continues down to just upstream of Allumette Island, turns back upstream on river left to the lighthouse, then continues back downstream on river right finishing at Riverside Park beach.
  • A shuttle service will be in place to transport racers back to their vehicles at the start (time TBC).
  • This event starts at 7:30 am!
  • *MUST REGISTER BY FRIDAY, AUGUST 7, 2020.


13 KM Intermediate Class (18+)

  • This category is reserved for intermediate to experienced paddlers who have a strong knowledge and previous experience of paddling distances over 10 km. Racers ust be knowledgeable about self-rescue and various adverse open water conditions including wind and waves.
  • The race leaves from Petawawa Point beach in Petawawa and finishes at Riverside Park beach in Pembroke.  A shuttle service will be in place to transport racers back to their vehicles at the start (time TBC).
  • This event starts at 9:30 am.
  • *Pre-registration by Friday, August 7, 2020 is highly encouraged.


4 KM Beginner Class 

  • This category is for beginner to novice experienced paddlers who have been paddling for a short time. Racers must have a basic knowledge of paddling and experience paddling short distances of at least 1-2 km. The shorter distance races have been designed to have paddlers in a small and safe monitored area.
  • Race is a double loop starting and finishing at Riverside Park Beach in Pembroke.  The race course is triangluar and goes around three large race buoys.  The race course is visible from the start point and located downstream of the beach. Racers will circle the course in a counter clockwise fashion; all turns should be left-handed around the marked buoys.
  • *Course is subject to change depending on weather conditions.


1 KM Kids Class (12 & Under)Image of UORRPF logo

  • This is a kids-only fun race to get the future of paddling starting!
  • This category is for paddlers under the age of 12 who have minimal experience.  Racers must be able to swim and paddle 1 km. 
  • Race is a single lop staring and finishign at Riverside Park beach in Pembroke.  Racers will circly the course in a counter clockwise fashion.
  • The race takes place at Riverside Park off the beach on Saturday afternoon.
