Water Tower Refurbishment Project Update

Petawawa, ON - Attention Petawawa residents: The Water Tower refurbishment project on Water Tower Road is complete. The re-filling of the Tower was delayed due to the large water main break that occurred on November 21st in Pembroke and resulted in immediate adjustments to the Town water distribution system. On Monday December 8th, OCWA staff will start the process of returning the distribution system back to its normal operations. The first step will involve re-opening the water main from Pembroke that feeds the McGuire Subdivision in Petawawa. This work will be completed on Monday and Tuesday. The second step involves the final disinfection of the Water Tower and refilling. This work will be completed on Wednesday through to Friday and involves several rounds of water sampling and lab analysis. The goal is to have the Tower back online and the distribution system back to normal operation by Tuesday, December 16th.

There is no water restriction associated with this update. Residents may continue to notice some water pressure fluctuations until the water distribution system is returned to normal operation. The Public Works Department along with the Ontario Clean Water Agency greatly appreciates the cooperation and patience of the public throughout this process.
