Planning & Development will review an application to confirm that the proposed work complies with the Ontario Building Code, Building Code Act, Zoning By-law, Official Plan and other applicable law(s). 

What happens during construction? 

A Building Inspector will determine if construction is being completed in accordance with the Ontario Building Code; the original permit and approved plans.

What happens if you don't get a building permit? 

 Anyone who is found guilty of building without a permit can be fined.  Further to this, by-law 1410/21; a Starting without a permit - Administration fee can be applied.
