Petawawa Point Beach

Special Notice:

The historical low water levels currently being experienced in the Ottawa River has narrowed the distance between the beach head and the boating channel at Petawawa Point Beach. This has created an increased risk for a collision between swimmers who may not be aware of the boating channel and boat operators who do not exercise caution and reduce their speed accordingly when approaching the beach head. The Town of Petawawa is asking both swimmers and boat operators to please exercise extreme caution when recreating in this area.

BOATERS - Please slow down and proceed with caution when travelling in the vicinity of the Petawawa Point beach head.

SWIMMERS – Do not enter the water/swim outside of the designated upstream swim area marked by signage (see photo above). Always be aware of your surroundings and do not enter the boat channel marked by the red and green buoys. DO NOT attempt to swim across the boating channel to reach Blueberry Island.

The Town of Petawawa wishes to ensure everyone has a safe and fun summer. For questions or concerns please contact Community Services at recreation@petawawa.ca or 613-687-5678.
