Ottawa Valley Boss Babes is excited to host the fourth annual Ottawa Valley Women's Collective. The OVWC event features a collective panel discussion featuring a diverse representation of women across Eastern Ontario's rural communities. It is an opportunity to support and embrace other women, equity, inclusion and smashing gender stigmas.
This year's the women business owners are celebrating building your personal empire through three key themes: Invest, Inspire and Impact, where our panelists will be focusing on:- How to invest for success - key fundamentals that every entrepreneur needs in order to become successful
- Addressing the complex challenges women in business are facing and areas that our panelists have faced over the years of breaking into your specific industry
- The importance of key partnerships, catalyst organizations, making connections both in and outside of your field and the value they hold
- How our panelists are making an impact, through ongoing innovation, expansion, and growth
The three panelists are dynamic, trailblazing women, each bringing something unique to the table:
- Dr. Morgan Welburn was the very first female Optometrist to open a fully owned and operated female-led eye clinic
- Kristin Leitch's business, Hela Beauty was the first business to open a medical beauty and aesthetic clinic in the Ottawa Valley, expanding and opening a second clinic/spa in Petawawa
- Jodie Primeau was the very first feminist lawyer to open her fully female-founded law firm in Deep River, opening her second location in Arnprior last year
The three panelists have faced interesting and challenging barriers throughout their careers, from facing societal business stigmas, gender-dominated industries, and have had to use their strong, confident voices to fight for a seat at the table. And they've all proven to be successful, thriving, and community champions in our community.
