On July 4, 2023 Council of the Corporation of the Town of Petawawa adopted By-law 1597/23, Being a By-law to Regulate and Govern the Operation of All-Terrain, Multi-Purpose and Recreational Off-Road Vehicles (ORVs) on Highways Under the Jurisdiction of the Corporation of the Town of Petawawa.
On June 3, 2024 Council of the Corporation of the Town of Petawawa adopted By-law 1664/24, Being a By-law to Amend By-law 1597/23. This amendment was adopted to establish an Algonquin Trail Off-Road Vehicle Access Route. The Algonquin Trail Off-Road Vehicle Access Route was established for Petawawa residents who live on the designated residential streets to access the Algonquin Trail from their homes and vice versa, without having to trailer their ORVs. It is an offence to operate an Off-Road Vehicle on the Algonquin Trail Off-Road Vehicle Access Route if the destination of the Off-Road Vehicle is other than the operator's/person's place of residence or the Algonquin Trail.
Meet your friends on the trail! If you don't live on the designated residential street, then you shouldn't be operating your ORV on the designated residential street. Please respect your neighbours!
