Algonquin Provincial Park

This world-renowned park offers something for everyone - bird/wildlife watching, fishing, hiking, canoeing, swimming or just relaxing on the beach. Experience picturesque views from the Barron Canyon trail (1.5 km) or hike to High Falls where you can try out the natural rock waterslide and go for a swim. Book an overnight stay at Achray Campground, or an interior campsite to extend your getaway.

The closest road access point from Petawawa is Sand Lake Gate off Barron Canyon Road. Otherwise, the East Gate is located on Highway 60/Frank MacDougall Parkway. This is the main access corridor and where you will find the popular Visitor Centre with more information about all services, park history, and a gift shop.
