The Petawawa Civic Centre Arena features an 83.5' x 183.5' ice surface. Spectator benches can accommodate up to 554 individuals. We try to open the ice seasonally the first week of October and continue maintenance of it until the last weekend of March. Between April and September, the arena floor is also available for bookings without ice.
In the winter, ice time is heavily used by local youth organizations, adult seasonal clubs, and schools. The Town also hosts public skates during the week and multiple tournaments occur throughout the year.

Private Ice Rentals & Public Skates
There is very limited availability for private rentals, we encourage residents to take advantage of the public skating times for their recreational skating leisure or to check out our Outdoor Rink. Holiday Sponsored Skates & Advertising Opportunities for Local Organizations & Businesses
In addition to the regular scheduled Public Skates, Petawawa residents come together at the Civic Centre to enjoy public skating, an active and healthy recreational activity the whole family can participate in together. Businesses have the opportunity to offset the costs for the public to access these activities through sponsorship.
In the summer, multiple special events are held on the arena floor such vendor shows, sporting events, and large reunions.
Advertising spaces are available on the arena boards and walls. Signs are usually 8' x 3' and have limited availability, please contact us right away for more information.
Businesses and organizations are invited to sponsor public skating. This can coincide with our scheduled public skates or during an additional time. Download the information sheet below for program details or contact us for more details.

Seasonal Ice User Groups & Tournaments
Clients can make requests for ice use directly to the Community Service Liaison by sending an email to bookings@petawawa.ca. Annually on the first of April forms will be emailed to seasonal user groups to request the next seasons ice times with completed forms being submitted no later than April 30. All requests received will be considered during the allocation process of creating a master schedule for the upcoming season as per the Ice Allocation Policy (found at the bottom of this page). Any changes to schedules or cancellations need to communicated in writing, (preferably by email) 7 days in advance of the event date to avoid fees. Any changes communicated within 7 days of the event will still be charged at the full rate unless we are able to resell the ice time.
All community user groups and individuals planning any kind of fundraising activities or campaigns intended to take place on Town property need to review the Lottery Licensing Information Sheet (found at the bottom of this page).

2023-2024 Ice Availability - (Updated Monday December 11, 2023)
Available Ice Times can be found through our online booking portal at: https://townofpetawawa.ezfacility.com/
Click through the link, create a profile and proceed to the "Booking Rentals" option in the menu. Please note the ice will only be available for booking between October and March. From the months of April to September the ice is taken out to support trade shows and other events at the Civic Centre. After you have found and reserved your ice time we will follow up by email with the rental contract forms.
