Town of Petawawa – Public Information Session

The Town of Petawawa recently hosted a Public Information Session for stakeholders to review design options for providing access to Norman Street from Petawawa Boulevard. Participants were also invited to share feedback with staff on redevelopment concepts for Kiddyland Park.

Two entrance concepts were presented at the session and are attached for review.

Residents can indicate their preferred design option on a comment sheet. The public comment period will remain open until 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 11, 2025.

Consideration for Improved Access to Norman Street

Over the past several years, the Town of Petawawa has taken steps to undertake further development of the Kiddyland Park off of Norman Street.  This has culminated with the development of the Kiddyland Park Design Concept, which is presented as part of this Public Information Session. This plan notes the features that are currently being looked at in terms of the future development of the park. 

Some of the key features are:
• Petawawa Junction Comfort Station (already completed)
• Container Market
• Petawawa Letter Sign
• Junior & Senior Playgrounds
• Naturalized Planting Areas 
• Walkways
• Skatepark & Splash Pad
• Improvements to the Parking Lots 
• Repositioning of the Ball Diamond

Based on the development plans for Kiddyland Park, it is envisioned that there will be increased vehicular and pedestrian traffic in the area, with most of that occurring along Norman Street.  As a result, the Town is undertaking further improvements to Norman Street in terms of constructing a direct connection to Petawawa Boulevard.   There are two (2) options that are being considered, as depicted on the drawings presented.

The Town of Petawawa is inviting residents and stakeholders to view design options for providing access to Norman Street from Petawawa Boulevard. Town staff and project engineers will be on site to answer any questions about the road reconstruction project. There will also be an opportunity to gather information on the proposed redevelopment of Kiddyland Park.
