Environment Canada has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for our area. Conditions are favourable for the development of dangerous thunderstorms that may bring damaging winds, torrential rainfall, large hail, and the risk of a tornado.

Hazards Include:

• Wind gusts up to 110 km/h

• Torrential rainfall possibly exceeding 50 mm

• Nickel-sized hail

• A tornado is also possible

• Be prepared for rapidly changing and potentially dangerous conditions.

• If threatening weather approaches:

  • Take shelter immediately in a basement or interior room.

  • Stay away from windows and doors.
