June 11 - Civitan Playland Park - Accessible Improvements
Work at Civitan Playland Park will be completed by July 16th.

The Town of Petawawa Parks and Recreation Department will be initiating its annual Public Park and Green Spaces Capital and Maintenance Program. From June  25 - July 11 (projected), the Parks and Recreation Department operations staff and third party contractor will be working at Civitan Playland Park to replace the rubber base area under the saucer swing and replace the sand under the 2 bay swing to a NEW rubberized surface.

These accessible improvements are thanks to funding received from the 2018 Enabling Accessibility Fund representing $39,000.00, with additional support by the Greater Petawawa Civitan Club, contributing $5,000.00.  The entire project is valued at $66,000.00.

Residents using Civitan Playland Park are asked to have patience as we replace the hard surface under these two play structures.  Delays have occured, on the contractor end, due to the extreme heat we have experienced in the region.  When the contractor is available to complete the surface installation, the work is anticipated to occur during regular business hours 7 am - 5 pm. Park users can continue to use the other park amenities, including the splash pad during this renovation.
