Fire Prevention Week Message

Fires are burning faster and hotter in today's homes. Your time for escaping a fire decreases due to the synthetic materials that our homes and contents are constructed with. Without a plan and working smoke alarms your chance of survival diminishes every second. The Town of Petawawa Fire Department would like to remind residents that from the 8th till the 14th  of October is Fire Prevention Week and this year’s theme is    “ Every Second Counts: Plan 2 Ways Out”.

It is important that everyone tests their smoke and carbon monoxide alarms - it’s the law.

Having working smoke alarms/carbon monoxide alarms, a plan in place and two ways out of each room will prepare residents and their loved ones for the worst.

So, test your smoke and carbon monoxide alarms today or you could lose everything that matters!
