Water Use

Regulations for water use are year-round.
Lawn watering:
 - Even numbered addresses on even numbered days
 - Odd numbered addresses on odd numbered days
 - 6:00 to 9:00 am and 6:00 to 9:00 pm on your assigned day
 - New sod/grass seed permitted 14 days daily watering - contact Town Hall for authorization
Pools:
 - You cannot fill any swimming pool from a residential faucet.  For filling swimming pools contact Public Works for details.

Domestic Pets

 - All dogs and cats residing within the town of Petawawa must be licenced and tagged.
 - The owners of any dog or cat must ensure that the animal is confined to that owner's property by any means necessary.  Dogs and cats must not be allowed to roam free off the owner's property.
 - All animals shall be leashed when off the owner's property.
 - All animal waste, regardless of location, shall be cleaned up at the time of deposit.

Outdoor Fires

 - Outdoor fires are restricted without authorization.
 - All outdoor fires (recreational: fire pits, campfires, appliances or open air burning) are regulated and subject to permit.
 - Full details and the required application for an outdoor fire may be obtained at the Town office or under Forms and Applications in the Quick Links menu.

Parking By-laws

While some Town roads have specific parking and stopping regulations posted on signs, there are some regulations that are applied town-wide and are listed as follows:

Unless otherwise posted, parking is not permitted:
 - within 1.5 m of an entrance to a driveway
 - within 3 m of a fire hydrant
 - within 10 m of an intersection
 - more than 15 cm from a curb

Parking is not permitted int he following locations:
 - on or overhanging a sidewalk or curb
 - in a manner obstructing traffic
 - facing the wrong direction on a roadway
 - on private property without the property owner's consent
 - on municipal property without authorization

Winter Parking Restrictions (15 November to 31 March):
 - no parking on any street from 1:00 am to 7:00 am
 - at any time when accumulated snow fall exceeds or is expected to exceed 5 cm
 - during any snow removal or clearing operation
