Attention Leash Free Dog Park Users
The prolonged spring thaw has created wet and muddy conditions at the Civic Centre Road entrance to Scentral Bark Dog Park. As a result, the Parks and Recreation Department has closed this entrance point until the spring thaw is complete and ground conditions have improved. Until further notice, Scentral Bark Dog Park Users are asked to park at the back of the main parking lot at the Civic Centre Arena and walk over to the dog park. Additionally, due to traffic congestion along Civic Centre Road before and after the school day, Scentral Bark Dog Park Users are asked to not park along Civic Centre Road. Your assistance in this matter is greatly appreciated.
A reminder that Dog Park tags are due by April 1st.  They are $20 and are available at both the Town and Parks & Rec offices.

Frozen Water Pipes

Attention residents! We are currently experiencing an increased risk of interruption in water service due to freezing in the water pipes. Starting now, please leave one of your COLD water taps running at a trickle at ALL Times! The trickle should be as thick as a drinking straw. Please ensure that water is draining at all times. Those water pipes at risk of freezing will remain vulnerable for the next 6 week period, weather dependent. We will notify residents once the risk is over.
If you are currently experiencing a total water loss due to freezing, please call an independent plumber. Once water is restored, please maintain a constant trickle until further notice.

Load Restrictions

Load restrictions shall come into effect on March 16, 2015 through to May 31, 2015.

Track & Field Facility Construction

The Town of Petawawa and the Renfrew County District School Board are pleased to announce that they have  entered into a partnership with respect to design and construction of a track and field facility for both school and community use. The new facility will be located at the Petawawa Civic Centre between the area known locally as the “Back-40” and the new Valour School on Leeder Lane. With the new Valour School set to open in January (2015), construction of the new outdoor facility will commence shortly. Initial work will include land-clearing and grading and will last through to mid - October. It is anticipated that earthworks will commence shortly afterwards and last until winter sets in. Work will then re-commence in the spring with the anticipated opening of the new track and field facility to be late summer 2015.

Land-clearing associated with the project will be performed by Garrison Petawawa. During both the land-clearing period and construction, residents are asked to refrain from entering the site. The site will be fenced and demarcated so as to inform individuals near the area as to the limits of the site.

Should you have any questions regarding the project and/or specifically, the construction period for the new facility, please call Mr. Kelly Williams at 613-687-5678 ext. 2104 or e-mail at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
